ACCREDITATIONS
Commission on Accreditation of
Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
CARF is the nation’s accreditation authority in the fields of
medical rehabilitation, behavioral health, employment and community
support services. CARF first gave Marklund accreditation for
respite, residential, EIP and DT in 1997. After 2000, only our DT
program required accreditation.
CARF provides a “Seal of Approval” on Quality Assurance. We undergo
surveys (each usually a two day process) during which they review a
set of standards based on outcomes. During this thorough and
intensive survey, they review business operations (leadership,
financial, development) to ensure appropriate checks and balances
are in place. Surveyors gauge the satisfaction of clients by
interviewing the individuals and their families. They ensure that
Marklund provides a normalized life experience: that our clients
participate in age appropriate activities in a lifestyle that is
similar to those without developmental disabilities.
Accreditation is awarded for 1, 2, or 3 years. Marklund has achieved
the highest level of accreditation by receiving the 3-year award
every time we have been surveyed. |
