EMPLOYEE VALUES
In the interest of creating a common
positive workplace culture, Marklund’s leadership team implemented a
5-week training course for staff called Culture Training. These
training sessions have been held consistently since its inception in
September 2005. The main purpose of the course is to instill the
eight
core Marklund values into each staff member. Employees are encouraged
to share their knowledge with other employees and empower them to feel
the strength of culture training.
The 8 Core Values:
-
Attitude: The
positive manner used in addressing the residents, families and
co-workers elevates the spirit of the whole group and creates a
harmonious environment.
“We reflect positively off
one another. It’s so important to leave ‘bad days’ at the door when
we walk in.”
-
Teamwork: Working as a
team gives the opportunity to utilize all talents as a group and to
realize the uniqueness of each one – all for a common goal, “The
Clients”.
“We make such an impact when we
work together…”
-
Creativity:
A conscious effort to see things differently, to
break out of habits and outdated beliefs to find new ways of
thinking, doing and being.
“New ideas are
always welcome – we never say ‘It’s too hard.'"
-
Integrity:
Working hard, keeping promises, sharing success.
Above all, honesty, respect and consideration for others.
“We feed off each other’s strengths. So it’s
imperative that everyone bring their best everyday.”
-
Individual Development:
Taking the initiative to improve oneself by
broadening one’s knowledge and skills in order to bring the best
possible to Marklund.
“We work to the best
of our abilities because we want to be here.”
-
Accountability:
The willingness to acknowledge responsibility to
others, and the willingness to fully accept responsibility for one’s
actions and the implication that may result.
“Everything we do impacts some part of Marklund. We
deal with everything right as it comes and always with an awareness
of what we can do better next time.”
-
Productivity:
Maximizing output without wasting resources or
compromising quality.
“We do what it
takes, and we find ways to work smarter everyday.”
-
Flexibility:
Recognizing that change is inevitable and adjusting
approaches and behaviors appropriately; being confident of trying
something different; being resilient.
“No matter what it is, if someone needs
something, we make sure
it's taken care of.”
