Internships For A Career in Serving Those with Developmental Disabilities
Not only do clinical student interns lend a helping hand in our day to day business activities, they contribute their ideas and give a fresh vantage point to our programs and services.
But perhaps most important, they get a real education about working with those with developmental disabilities.
Many students have never experienced anything with this field in their personal lives, and this is a chance for them to see first-hand,
how valuable our service is to those with loved ones with developmental disabilities.
Whatever path they take in their career, this experience will be beneficial.
Marklund has partnerships with area educational institutions including Elgin Community College, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Ambria College of Nursing, Harper College and College of DuPage. Nursing and therapy students participate in clinical rotations at the Marklund Children’s Home in Bloomingdale and Marklund at Mill Creek campus (therapy only) in Geneva. The experience at Marklund educates students on providing care to individuals who have complex medical needs and developmental disabilities.
