ADVANCED MEDICAL CARE

For those clients who need extra care, there’s the Exceptional Care Unit located at the Marklund Children’s Home in Bloomingdale. Clients served at this facility are those who are the most medically compromised or fragile or those that need additional monitoring. All rooms at the Exceptional Care Unit are visually monitored 24 hours a day by a staff of six certified nursing assistants and one registered nurse.

There are five to six clients per room in the Exceptional Care Unit. Each client has their own TV/DVD player to enjoy, as well as their own dresser and place for personal items. In addition to being in visual contact with staff at all times, there is constant monitoring of oxygen levels on trach clients. AVI vests provide respiratory therapy.
