CHILDREN'S HOME

The Marklund Children’s Home in Bloomingdale is a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility for pediatrics serving 30 residents in a home-like, comfortable environment. The home is consistently monitored 24 hours a day by six caring staff members (ratio is 1:5 staff to client) and oxygen levels on tracheotomy clients are constantly monitored. Additionally, two Qualified Mental Retardation Professionals are available for case management (ratio is 1:15 staff to client). AVI vests provide respiratory therapy.

Each bedroom at Marklund is outfitted with a TV/DVD player for the three clients living there to enjoy; each resident has their own dresser and place for personal items. There’s also an indoor baseball diamond, the Snoezelen Therapy Room and a number of therapeutic activities and outings planned for clients to take part in.
