MIRACLE LEAGUE BASEBALL

In June 2004, Marklund partnered with the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) to offer the baseball experience to developmentally disabled individuals in the community. The result was the first Miracle League baseball diamond in Illinois, which has a rubberized playing field perfect for wheelchair use.

Miracle League is designed with the belief that every child, regardless of their disability, should have the opportunity to play baseball. All players on each team bat each inning, and all base runners are safe. Both teams win the game. Additionally, FVSRA also runs two other leagues for young children, and Marklund clients often attend to watch and cheer on the teams.
