Top Hat Ball
The 16th annual Top Hat Ball, An Evening in Paris, will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Marriott Chicago Downtown (on Michigan Avenue). Guests will be treated to an exquisite evening featuring a Parisian theme with fine dining, dancing, auction and entertainment.

The Top Hat Ball is Marklund's largest fundraiser each year. At last year's event, more than $420,000 (gross) was raised in support of Marklund’s programs and services. Thank you to the sponsors, and all who attended.

Live and Silent Auction Terms
- Each person will been assigned a paddle at registration as noted on his or her Passport. If you attend as a couple, both of you will have the same number paddle to use. Paddles will be located at your table, with your name on it, for your convenience.
- Please only use the paddle number that has been assigned to you.
- Use the paddle for Live Auction, Silent Auction and Fund-in-Need bidding.
- To bid on the Live Auction, raise your paddle, with the number visible to the Auctioneer. Event committee spotters will be available to assist the Auctioneer in noting your bid.
- The highest bidder of any Live Auction item, as acknowledged by the Auctioneer, will be the purchaser.
- Questions of priority and procedure shall be decided by the Auctioneer, whose decision shall be final and binding.
- In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute.
- Upon Auctioneer’s indication of “sold,” title to the item will pass to the highest bidder who thereupon assumes full risk and responsibility.
- By his/her purchase, the bidder of any Live or Silent item/package, waives any claims for liability against either Marklund or the donor of the property or service.
- Some items are available for prior inspection. All items are sold “AS IS.” Dollar values included in any item’s description are estimates provided by the donor and are not warranted by Marklund or the Event Committee for tax purposes or market value.
- Silent Auction bidding will close at 10:30 p.m., and title to the item will pass to the highest bidder who thereupon assumes full risk and responsibility.
- Place your name and paddle number on the Silent Auction bid form to make your bid, and make minimum bids as indicated on each bid sheet.
- Silent Auction winners will be displayed on the screens in the ballroom after 10:30 p.m.
- If you are the highest bidder for a Live or Silent Auction item, please stop by the payment table in the foyer to pay for your item(s) and pick up your package(s).
